Do you make homemade waffles, or buy the freezer variety? Lately Christas been on a waffle kick- and while it’s nice to mix up your own fresh off the griddle for a weekend breakfast, freezer waffles have become a handy part of her breakfast & snack menus. They’re quick, easy to store & almost like a higher calorie version of toast. Our old standby use for freezer waffles used to be layering them with a spoon of peanut butter and a sprinkling of chocolate chips. We’ve upped the calorie count here by making it into a double waffle sandwich and slathering in the hazelnut & Cocoa spread in the middle. Our favorite is Nutella. Christa’s math calculates around 600 calories in her sandwich plus a good sized glass of chocolate milk and a few berries for something fresh. She tallies this breakfast up at 750 calories.
It’s plenty to take the dose of orkambi with & get a jump start on her daily goal of 3000.
post your great uses for freezer waffles in the comments- we’d love to feature one!
